World’s Smallest 1080p Camcorder a Sanyo

Sanyo today released a Camcorder which records in Full HD (1920 x 1080), this isn’t anything that special as there are a few HD Camcorders on the market, but when the unit weighs only 268 grams and fits into the palm of your hand, then thats when the world watches. The world’s smallest 1080p camcorder has been released and it is a masterpiece, not so much to look at, but feature wise.

Recording is to SD Card only which limits yourself somewhat, but these days, with the size of SD cards at the 8GB range, and the cheap price, its not a stupid move. An 8GB card will hold 1hr 25min, or 3,030 still images at the 8 megapixels the lens shoots at.

15 New 1080p Sony Bravias Released

Sony today released 15 High Definition LCD Bravia panels in Japan, all boasting true 1080p with 1920×1080 resolution. The largest being a massive 70″ (KDL-70X7000) ready for release on the 20th of November which is part of the X-Series, while the rest of the X-Series is being released on September 20th with the V-Series. While the W-Series are being released Novembor 10th. Below are the models and associated screen sizes.

SanDisk Sansa Clip

With Creatives release of the Zen Stone (very similar to the second generation iPod Shuffle), SanDisk come fighting back with the new Sansa Clip. This tiny unit comes in both 1GB and 2GB models, but unfortunately doesn’t allow microSD expansion to increase size, so is limited to 1GB and 2GB.

Rainbow Audio iPaul

Continuing with the Apple trend, Rainbow Audio have released the iPaul. The Apple inspired, both in name and style, car audio amplifiers come with a glossy black piano finish (similar to the iPhone) and feature rounded edges (also similar to the iPhone). Alpine have a similar styled amplifier with their PDX Range, and are the premium amplifiers in their range before the F#1 Status.

Bang & Olufsen DVD 2

Bang & Olufsen are somewhat similar to Apple, in that they make a lot of their products a pleasure to look at. Functionality can be some what basic though, but with a brand name on it, the product will move. B&O have now spun a DVD Recorder which is both a pleasure to look at and rewards the owner with great functionality.

iRobot Roomba 500 Series

iRobot’s newest 530 and 560 model vacuum cleaning robots have just been released at a price of $299 and $349 respectively. These things are really useful, autonomously they will vacuum your home and recharge when needed by themselves, great for busy (or lazy) households.

“It took three years and the latest in robot technology innovations to create appliances that can clean as effectively and autonomously as the new Roomba 500 series,” said Sandra Lawrence, president of iRobot Home Robots. “Life today is so busy, we rarely have the time or the energy to clean our homes as often as we’d like. If you wish you could have clean floors every day, this one’s for you.”

HP Officejet Pro L7680

The HP Officejet Pro L7680 is part of a new line of ‘all in one’ office based printers which started hitting shelves around six months ago. It’s clear to see that this printer is designed for the office environment, as it comes with a monthly recommended volume of 7,500 pages a month. Any average consumer printer would not survive a couple of months at this volume of printing. Generally, laser printers would be much more suitable at this level of printing due to the lower cost per page when taking ink cartridges into account, which makes me curious why HP would launch an inkjet to this target market. Fortunately, by separating black and colour tanks, HP have managed to keep the running costs reasonable for an inkjet.

O2 XDA Flame

The Xda Flame is 02’s most recent offering in the PDA market. As soon as I saw the unit, I really had to question what the company was thinking when they decided to produce this unit. It’s essentially some kind of hybrid unit, something in between a laptop and a phone.

Spec wise, this unit is a monster. Sporting a super fast 520 mhz Intel Xscale PXA 270 processor, 128 MB RAM and 2gb ROM storage space (expandable through mini SD expansion slot). The astonishing inclusion is an Nvidia Geforce 5500.
